Although it’s only March 1st, Martin Molnár has already wrapped up a championship season as the 2025 F4 Middle East Championship recently concluded. Over five rounds the drivers raced at three different tracks, and the Hungarian driver got the opportunity to familiarize himself with two Formula 1 venues, gaining valuable experience in preparation for the upcoming British F4 season.
The final round of the F4 Middle East Championship took place at a new venue for both the series and its competitors – the Losail International Circuit, home to the Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix. This round carried extra significance as the young drivers competed as part of the support races for the World Endurance Championship (WEC), meaning that Martin raced ont he same weekend with Ferraris, Porsches, BMW-s, and Aston Martins.
The Evans GP driver arrived at the Qatar circuit after setting a new personal best and achieving his best qualifying result. Molnár found the 16-turn, 5.419 km Grand Prix layout immediately enjoyable, however, his first race day was a bit unlucky with two collisions, neither of which were his fault. But in the third race, on the second day, he made an impressive recovery. Starting from 13th place in the 25-car grid, he fought his way up to 9th position, ending the weekend on a high note. This marked a positive end to a season that served as an excellent preparation for both the British F4 series and further racing experience.

“I know I said that my new favorite track was Abu Dhabi earlier this season, but I hadn’t driven in Qatar then, the other F1 venue of the championship. Now that I have, it’s clear this is my new favorite. It’s a fantastic track full of fast corners, and I enjoyed it from the very first lap,” said the Hungarian Motorsport Academy (HMA) driver. “The first race day was forgettable for me as I collided with opponents in both races. I could continue after the first, but after the second, I was forced to retire. However, the third race somewhat made up for it; my start was strong, and I managed to climb to 9th place.”
Molnár finished the F4 Middle East Championship as the top driver of Evans GP, placing 13th overall. He finished in the top 10 six times during the season, with his best results being two 7th-place finishes. His best qualifying position was 6th. “Overall, I gained useful experience from the F4 Middle East Championship, racing on three new tracks – including two F1 venues. I had many battles and numerous starts, so I did a lot of things that will serve as excellent preparation for the upcoming British F4 season. There’s no time to waste – straight from Qatar, I flew to England, where I’ll be testing with Virtuosi Racing on Tuesday, preparing as best I can for the Donington season opener.”
As last year’s top rookie, Molnár has high hopes for the British Championship, where, unlike in the Middle East series, he will race not just as a Virtuosi Racing driver but in the Virtuosi car. The 10-round British F4 Championship kicks off on April 26th and 27th at Donington Park.
